Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, my love for writing came much later in life. Joyce Kilmer’s poem Trees paved the way for love of poetry with Robert Frost to follow.
Although I was not an avid reader in school, a trip to a used book store proved to be enlightening. I came across a old book of an young and strong character…Anne Frank. Her name said it all. No light reading between those pages, but she grabbed my attention. That day, The Diary of Anne Frank took me to that upstairs room, and she shared her story.
And now my love for my Lord Jesus Christ has inspired me to write poetry in prayers for all. Along with the inspirations from our Lord, the Holy Spirit, our Blessed Mother, Mary and my Guardian Angel, they have encouraged me to do the same. All for the glory of God our Almighty Father.

KLRN (PBS) ArtBeat televised my poetry reading-1985.
2014 took us to Georgia and with Spanish, a key secondary language in my cultural tool bag, it allowed me to bridge both English and Spanish communities. What a blessing to write bilingual for various audiences and a great way to encourage learning a new language.

Nacida y criada en San Antonio, Tejas, mi amor por la escritura llegó mucho más tarde en la vida. La poema de Joyce Kilmer, Trees (Arboles) allanó el camino para el amor a la poesía de Robert Frost a seguir.
Aunque no era un ávido lector en la escuela, un viaje a una librería usada resultó ser esclarecedor. Me encontré un libro viejo de un personaje joven y fuerte... Ana Frank. Su nombre lo decía todo. No lectura ligera entre esas páginas, pero me llamó la atención.
Y ahora mi amor por mi Señor Jesucristo me ha inspirado a escribir poesía en la oración por todos. Junto con las inspiraciones de nuestro Señor, el Espíritu Santo, nuestra Santísima Madre, María y mi Ángel Guardián me han animado a hacer lo mismo. Todo por la gloria de Dios nuestro Padre Todopoderoso.

2014 nos trajo a Georgia y con la idioma Español secundaria clave en mi bolsa de herramientas culturales, me permitió unir puentes entre las comunidades inglesa y española. Qué bendición escribir bilingue para varios públicos. Y una gran manera de fomentar el aprendizaje de un nuevo idioma.
